SWIM LESSONS
American Red Cross – certified swim lessons
are 2-week sessions, Monday through Friday, 30 minutes each
day at a cost of
$30
per swimmer (unless otherwise specified.) Children
must
be 3 years old to enroll into “level” swim lessons. A
$2 additional
child discount
is given to each additional child from the same household enrolled in swim lessons
.
Semi-private lessons
are available for more individualized instruction. For
$60*
, the instructor will customize a class for a maximum
of 2 students.

Swim class registration is on a
first-come, first-serve basis
.
All classes are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
Parents may only register their child/children.
Please provide proof of residence. (Non-residents add $6.)

R E G I S T R AT I O N
LEVEL 1
Recommended Ages: 3 to 5 years
Increasing conformability & confidence during water exploration via bubble
blowing, supported front/back floats and kicks, submerging face and walking
through water. Basic safety techniques will be included.
LEVEL 2
Recommended Ages: 4 to 6 years
With no fear of the water, primary swimming skills are acquired: independent
front and back floating and gliding, strokes and kicks while improving
locomotion, basic front and back crawl, water entry, exit and safety.
Level 2
is very comprehensive and may take more than one session to master.
LEVEL 3
Recommended Ages: 6 years & older
Developing swimming skills: side-breathing with the front crawl, developing
elementary backstroke and back crawl endurance, treading water, gliding
from a wall-push and retrieving objects from the pool bottom.
Prerequisite:
Swimmer must have passed Level 2.
LEVEL 4 / 5
Recommended Ages: 6 years & older
Stroke Advancement & the refinement of swimming skills: mastering front and back crawl, elementary backstroke, fundamental sidestroke and
breaststroke, basic diving, treading water, swimming under water, the butterfly kick and water safety.
LEVEL 6
Recommended Ages: 6 years & older
Achieving proficiency and endurance on advanced strokes plus new skills: breaststroke and sidestroke turns, front crawl flip turn, pike and tuck
surface dives, and throwing safety assists.
* Holidays – No class on Monday, May 27 and Thursday, July 4

Session 2 registration begins Saturday, May 18 at the Class Showcase & Summer Program Preview at Westwind Center and will continue on Tuesday,
May 21 at Armstrong Center until classes are filled.
NO morning lessons will be available during Sessions 1, 2 & 7.
No mail-in Aquatics registrations and NO CASH at Saturday registrations.
No credits issued after the first week of class.

Saturdays, April 27: 11:00am – 1:00pm, May 4: 9:00 – 11:00am and May 11: 9:00 – 11:00am
at the Westwind Pool.
