Seaweed, Salmon and Manzanita Cider: A California Indian
Feast –
An exploration of traditional hunting, collecting, food preparation and food
preservation by California Indian cultures from all regions of the state. This exhibit showcases
the extensive and sophisticated system of environmental knowledge underlying California
Indian use of food resources. Also on display, are historic and contemporary
baskets, photographs and other artifacts used to hunt, gather and process
California Indian native foods.

Equinox and Native Foods –
Headed
by Tongva/Gabrieliño Cultural Bearer, Barbra Drake, the evening will begin with a
blessing by Jimi Castillo, Native American spiritual consultant and then proceed
into a storytelling and conclude with an evening among the stars in the museum’s
courtyard. This program will be appropriate for families and children, but space
will be limited so reservations will be required.

Ontario Open
is a biennial open call for local and regional
artwork presented in a community exhibition. A feast for the eyes, various media will be on display featuring:
painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, mixed media and much more! Organized and presented by the

twigs, grass clippings, and fruit and vegetable scraps into a rich, healthy soil amendment. Ontario
